Our Story

Questions

Awkward Kissy Lips

Why did you start your company?

Through our teenage and young adult years, we both gained self-confidence, body awareness and joy through circus arts and movement. It’s our goal to share these skills and the feeling of self-connection with others. The peninsula is our home and we want to make our services and knowledge accessible to enhance our community.

Why this service?

Due to our current lifestyles, many children and adults are suffering from physical inactivity which creates physical and mental health issues in our population. Through intrinsic motivation and teamwork, Movement Arts are a non-competitive, engaging way to build body-awareness and improve physicality, self-connection, communication skills, and joy.

Why you?

We’ve been studying circus, dance, theater, structural integration, clowning, weight lifting, and other movement and body related modalities for over 10 years each.

For 6 of those years, we’ve also been honing our performing and teaching skills.

We are experienced with working with kids, teens and adults and are passionate about sharing our knowledge of physical self-care and play.

What does “To provide quality movement education and inspiration” mean?

Our business is about offering skills and physical challenges that build body awareness and creative expression. We want to make this connection to movement and physical health accessible to enhance our community. We use performance as a way to inspire physical creativity and collaboration with others.
